Notts: Recycle your Christmas tree and support the Royal British Legion
As part of its annual Treecycle campaign, the Council’s waste management contractor, Veolia, is encouraging residents to take their trees to their local recycling centre in January so that they can be shredded for composting or chipped for use in parks and gardens, rather than taken to landfill ort left to rot at the bottom of the garde.
For every 50 tonnes of Christmas trees sent for recycling throughout January, Veolia will donate £100 to The Royal British Legion, the chosen charity of county council chairman Coun Sybil Fielding for her year in office.
The recycling centre in Worksop is located in Shireoaks Road, Worksop and is open from 8am to 4pm in January.
The Royal British Legions helps members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, Reservists, veterans and their families all year round.
They also campaign to improve their lives, organise the Poppy Appeal and remember the fallen.
