Notts: Strike action cancelled
Notts Fire and Rescue Service has been informed that today’s (Saturday) planned industrial action by the Fire Brigades Union over pensions has been cancelled.
Industrial action was planned by the Fire Brigade Union in England and Wales between 6.30pm and 11.30pm, and the Fire and Rescue Service had put contingency plans in place for this five-hour period, which will no longer be necessary.
The FBU will now continue negotiations with the Government.
Chief Fire Officer Frank Swann said: “We are pleased the industrial action has been called off and hope for a speedy resolution to the dispute between the FBU and the Government.”
