Oh boy Kyran from Louth was born on February 29

Lauren Tindall,17, gave birth to Kyran Coddington, weighing 7lb 12oz, at 10.20am at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby.

Alongside delighted dad, Jack Coddington,19, the Louth couple are happy to have become parents for the first time. New mum Lauren said: “My due date wasn’t until March 5.

“But we did have a joke and said our baby would be born on Leap Year Day and, as luck would have it, it actually happened.

“The birth felt really quick for me and I was able to deliver Kyran naturally. The news of my pregnancy was a total surprise - but I’m really excited and I am loving being a mum.”

Lauren added: “Having our baby being born on Leap Year Day makes it all the more special for us as new parents.

“It’s weird to think that Kyran’s official birthday will not happen for another four years - but for the other three years we will celebrate his birthday on March 1.”

Dad Jack is looking forward to his family’s future all together.

He said: “I’m really excited to see what the future brings for all of us now that Kyran is here with us. We might even let him have two birthdays when the Leap Year comes around again, if he’s lucky.”

Proud great-grand parents, Pete and Gill Tindall are very happy with the arrival of their first great-grand child.

“We are very happy that our very first great-grand child has arrived - we are over the moon,” Pete said.
