Old Hartland reunion

Dozens of former pupils from a Worksop school descended on the town from across the world for a reunion.

Organisers said an amazing time was had reminiscing when the class of ‘74 from the old Hartland School met up.

Around 70 classmates had travelled from around the world, including from America, Canada, Singapore and Cyprus and for many it was the first time they had seen each other for 37 years.

Judy Randle, who travelled from Hong Kong, said: “It was amazing evening. It was really fun and amazing seeing people that you last saw when you were 18.”

Another former pupil Steve Daniels said: “The reunion was great. Notable was than no-one touched their mobiles for the whole event, and no-one really talked about the ‘me too’ stuff like jobs and families other than to bring people up to date.”

Jim Squires, who travelled to the reunion from his home in northern Scotland, said there were several people they have yet to contact. “We would like to make contact with them because another reunion will be planned,” he said.

Some of the people they are still searching for include Liz Wood, Judith Greaves, Sue Shone (now Thompson), Susan Cordell (now Ong), Corrine Nethercott (now Hunt?), Ian Leach and Ian Batty. If you are one of the class email [email protected].
