Ongo fills Epworth with ‘Neighbourhood Pride’

Ongo has been busy delivering their Neighbourhood Pride events to the region during the holidays.

The events took place from March to June across various locations across the region, including Fielside in Epworth, Market Hill in Scunthorpe, and Caistor Road, Barton.

Developed and delivered by the social landlord’s caretakers, Resident Involvement Team, housing officers and Tenancy Support Team, the events brought communities together to advise them on the various services offered and to take part in fun activities.

Ongo staff donned their overalls at each event to help improve the community, including planting, weeding, and clearing of rubbish. At one event at Lodge Moor, over 350kg of waste, including litter & leaves was collected and disposed of.

If it wasn’t an Easter Egg hunt attracting the many visitors to the events, it was the bingo, bowls and quizzes.

A group of ongo caretakers ran stalls at the events, where they gave advice and ran the activities. Topics included graffiti and fly-tipping, where information was given out about the bulky item collection service, recycling, and the environment.

Children also had a go at ‘growing your own’ with a sunflower or pansy which should be set to bloom soon.
