We have an an overwhelming response from people applying to become one of the force’s new 150 PCs, but fear not if you missed the deadline - there is a new opportunity to join the team.

On Monday 18th March we open the gates for applications to become one of 50 new Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).

PCSOs work on the front line, providing a visible and reassuring presence on the streets and tackling problems that really affect our communities.

Although they do not have the same powers as police officers, they carry a lot of responsibility and are a critical part of the work we do.

PCSOs don’t have the power of arrest and this means less paperwork, freeing you up to dedicate time and energy into making a real and lasting difference in the community you serve.

Our own PCSO Ryan Bowskill is well-known in Worksop after setting up a boxing club in Manton and he is currently working on his latest project in Kilton, putting the final touches to a new community centre and busily arranging a grand open day.

Being a PCSO is a paid position that can be very fulfilling in its own right, but it also gives those in the role a chance to experience policing with a view to progressing through the ranks.
