Bus station is on track

I write with reference to your story in last week’s Guardian ‘Delays Expected at Bus Station’.

It is important to focus on the fact that, after many years of waiting, Worksop is getting the bus station it deserves and Nottinghamshire County Council is working as hard as possible to deliver it as soon as possible.

The new bus station is on track for work to begin next summer for opening in spring 2015 and, at a time of severe financial constraints, the county council is providing £3m to make sure that it goes ahead.

The new station will be one that Worksop people can be proud of. It will be fit for the 21st century and will provide a major boost to the economy of the town.

I personally can’t wait to see work begin.
