l Access to the Mill Road and Gordon Field areas, which are currently both dependant on a single road link.

I made the above submission in writing in response to the following question posed by the inspector as part of his examination of the central Lincolnshire local plan in September.

I was invited to attend an examination session on December 8, when I put the case for a Market Rasen bypass to the inspector.

On December 1, one of my colleagues contacted train company bosses and the relevant officer at West Lindsey District Council to let them know the detail of the case I would be making at the examination hearing.

On December 7, council leader Cllr Jeff Summers warned in the Rasen Mail of a ‘looming disaster’ and challenged local authority bosses to come up with a plan to address the issue of major traffic problems in Market Rasen town centre.

Cllr Summers was the local authority boss in overall charge of the central Lincolnshire local plan until April 2016.

Could Cllr Summers explain why the local plan – in development since 2010 and covering the period through to 2036 – includes no reference to a bypass for central Market Rasen?
