Fly-tipping - Councils are also to blame

I drive through the Wolds three times a week on my way to visit relatives in the area.

I often see a pile of rubbish dumped at the side of the road.

How would the people responsible feel if I left my rubbish outside their homes?

The councils say they are taking action to stop fly-tipping, but they must also take their share of the blame because of the cuts in opening hours and other restrictions at refuse sites.

I recently attempted to take some off-cuts from conifer trees to a site and was told the load was too big.

While I stood and argued, people were dumping far bigger loads – some of it building rubble which, to the best of my knowledge, cannot by recycled.
