The AOP Awards recognises the highest levels of achievement in UK optics, and the Young Practice of the Year award celebrates practices which fill a need in the community and demonstrate drive and flair in establishing, growing and retaining a strong customer base.

Tushar Majitha, optometrist and managing director of Lunettes Opticians, which has two further practices in Sleaford and Grantham, was presented with the award along with Claire Wood, optometrist and manager, at a ceremony held in London Excel; they are pictured.

Mr Majithia said: “We were really surprised but thrilled to have won the award because it’s voted for by our customers and supporters, and is therefore a true reflection that what we are doing is right.”

Claire, of Navenby, added: “We are extremely delighted to have won this prestigious award. When we established the practice in 2012 our focus was to be at the heart of the community and offer excellent patient care.”
