Organisers start the final countdown to Boston's lights switch-on

Final preparations are being made for the Christmas Lights switch on in Boston tomorrow (Thursday).

The main switch-on at 6.30pm will see two lantern processions through the market, inspired by the Pilgrim Fathers’ journey to America.

There will be a market from noon until 8pm and late-night shopping as well as face painting from 3pm, fairground attractions and Santa’s Grotto.

Pescod Square will also be holding its Christmas lights switch event from 5-8pm, the same night with the main event at 7pm.

The event will also include Oldrids’ Giant Snow Globe, a Christmas choir and entertainment from Alan School of Dance.

There will also be a panto performance from the cast of Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood which runs from December 9 until January 3 at Blackfriars Theatre.
