Outdoor gym plan for Spilsby

Final discussions are taking place to bring an outdoor gym to Spilsby.

Councillors visited a cardio gym in Leverton last week to get an idea how it would look at the recreation ground in Ancaster Avenue.

Town clerk Bonny Smith said the council had received match funding from East Lindsey District Council to install eight pieces of outdoor gym equipment on the recreation ground, following a consultation with members of the public.

She said: “We are hoping to get this installed very soon to meet the deadline for the funding. We were very impressed with what we saw at Leverton and are looking forward to having this facility in Spilsby.”

Mrs Smith said repair work to the play area, which has been closed since an inspection, is nearing completion.

She said: “We have been painting two pieces of the equipment but we are hoping to have the play area open again very soon.”
