Pause for Thought

As we approach Palm Sunday I always remember my early days in Sunday school and the hymns we used to sing.

These reflected some of the Biblical accounts of Jesus entering the city of Jerusalem.
It raised questions such as “Why would such a popular man ride a humble donkey on such a journey?”
This year the lectionary reading tells us that the disciples were the ones acclaiming Jesus as King and shouting hosanna – which can be roughly translated as, “Save us!”
We are told that even the stones would cry out if people remain silent.
It reminds me that God created everything and that all things, as well as people, can praise God.
‘Praise the everlasting King!’
