Pensioner dies 12 days after Thurcroft collision

Police have named an elderly pedestrian who died 12 days after a collision in Thurcroft.

George Joynson, 85, from Thurcroft, suffered multiple injuries following the accident on Green Arbour Road on Thursday 29th December.

Mr Joynson is believed to have begun to cross the road from behind a parked vehicle when he was in collision with a red Toyota Auris, travelling towards Dinnington.

The accident happened outside a kebab shop around 40 metres past the junction with Katherine Street at 9.39am.

Mr Joynson died in Rotherham General Hospital on Tuesday 10th January.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the collision to ring 101 and quote incident number 193 of 29 December, 2011.
