Pensioner dies after A16 crash

A MAN died after a crash on the A16.

The collision took place at about 3.25pm on Friday. A red Honda Civic driven by it’s owner Walter Gill, aged 72 of Holton le Clay, was involved in a collision with some traffic lights on the A16 at Holton le Clay.

Mr Gill was the only occupant of the Honda and it is not thought that any other vehicle was involved.

He was taken to Grimsby hospital where he was subsequently certified as deceased.

Police are investigating the possibility that Mr Gill was taken ill at the wheel and crashed as a result.
