People in South Kesteven are the happiest in the county according to national statistics

A well-being survey published this week says people living in South Kesteven are among the happiest in the region.

The report by the Office of National Statistics surveyed 300,000 people across the UK over three years. It gave average scores out of 10 for each region surveyed in four different categories - happiness, life satisfaction, anxiety and feeling life is worthwhile.

South Kesteven scored an average 7.7 in the happiness category. The happiest people in the country, according to the survey, live in the Outer Hebrides in northern Scotland with a score of 8.1.

Asked the question to what extended do you feel the things you do in life are worthwhile?, people in South Kesteven responded positively to gain an average score of 8, the highest in Lincolnshire.

The people of the district against answered positively when asked how satisfied are you with life nowadays? They scored an average of 7.8, again the highest in the county.

Finally, when asked how anxious did you feel yesterday?, South Kesteven scored an average of 2.7 out of 10, but the people of South Holland were more chilled with a score of 2.1.

The recently published ONS findings were based on three years of data collected between April 2012 and March 2015.
