A time to remember for Russell Green residents

Russell Green Care Home in Woodhall Spa held an Armistice Service last week, led by Eric Wilcox, RAF (Rtd).

Eric, who spent a lifetime in the RAF and is also a member of the Royal British Legion, was joined by residents, including ex-Grenadier Guard Aubrey Collins, to observe the two minute silence followed by a poetry reading, “Why are Poppies Red, Mummy?”

Eric also spoke some moving words about those we have lost.

Home manager Julie Garnett said, “We are extremely grateful to Eric for taking the Armistice Day service for us. It means a lot to all of us here.”

The Home also had a Polish/English Remembrance display.
