Charity haircut 20 months in the making

A charitable seven-year-old in Sleaford has parted with her long locks in aid of a charity which provides real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss.

Isobel Whelan, of Winchelsea Primary School, in Ruskington, had been deliberately growing her hair for The Little Princess Trust for 20 months ahead of the trim.

Proud mum Hannah said: “She worked really hard to grow it, and has had to put up with a haircut from me until hairdressers are re-opened.”

Some 12 inches of hair have been set aside for trust, and, at the time of writing, £99 had been donated to the cause by friends and family on the back of the haircut.
