What would Christmas at school be without a Nativity?

That was the thought at Horncastle Community Primary School, so they have gone all out to make it happen.

The Year One Nativity performance has been shared on the schools website and can be viewed here: www.horncastleprimary.co.uk/year-1-nativity-20201/

And at The Edward Richardson Primary, Tetford, Reception and Year One children enjoyed a Christmas Forest School session - making ‘mud mince pies’ and festive wreaths; Year Two and Year Three children made chocolate-coated peppermint creams to give to family as gifts and children in years four, five and six enjoyed an online interactive Christmas quiz - complete with two children who were self-isolating!

At Banovallum School, Headteacher Grant Edgar said: “One of the great disappointments of this period is the fact that we cannot do the full range of extra- curricular activities that we would normally do.

“One regret is that we will not be able to have our usual carol service at St Mary’s Church to mark the end of this term but hopefully that will return next year.

“We have, however, made the nativity figures which are on display outside the Church.

“We have tried to retain a little of the spirit of Christmas by having a Christmas Tree
decorating competition amongst the Year Groups. The trees will go to local community groups once we have finished term. We’ve also adapted our usual Christmas Dinner to enable a socially distanced celebration, with Christmas Dinner paninis stuffed full of the usual trimmings.”
