The coastal baby bank was established on January 1 this year, focusing its efforts on supporting vulnerable families with children between 0-5 years old.
A spokesman for the baby bank said: “We decided to set up a baby bank in the local area to help vulnerable families with children under the age of five.
“We put the word out for donations and we have been overwhelmed over the last nearly 12 months so much so we have a 20 foot storage facility now.
“We help with anything, all through donations, from the basic needs up to bigger things if we have them.
“The response from the community has been amazing and we can’t thank them enough as they have helped us help vulnerable families in their time of need.
“We are completely non-profit and are working towards getting set up professionally so we can get help with funding, and a premises to keep our donations and so that our vulnerable families can visit us themselves.”
The spokesman added: “This Christmas we decided to ask for Christmas gift bags, so we could make sure these children and families could have Christmas presents on Christmas Day.
“The response has been overwhelming, and we are so very grateful that our vulnerable children will now have presents to open on this special day of the year.”
