Martin Pritty, 36, of Mitchell Road, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.

Prosecuting, Jim Clare said police saw him driving his black BMW car at 3pm on October 25 last year in Kirkby Lane, Kirkby on Bain and as it was flagged up as not being insured, they stopped the car.

He said the officers then established that Pritty was disqualified from driving having been banned for six months under the totting up procedure until February 2021.

Mitigating, Philippa Chatterton said Pritty had only driven a mile to a mile and a half as he wanted to get to some woods to go for a walk, adding that his car had been seized by the police.

Pritty was fined £250 on each of the offences and ordered to pay £119 in court costs and charges.

He was also disqualified from driving for three months.
