A spokesman for Rand Farm Park, near Market Rasen, said it had taken the decision ‘with a heavy heart’.
The statement said: “It is with great sadness that we must let you all know that Rand Farm Park will be closed from the end of today (Friday, March 20) until further notice.
“Despite hoping to remain open for the weekend, we feel that it is our responsibility to keep our team and our visitors safe and that it would be wrong to continue to encourage you to visit us.
“Please keep in contact – the animals still need looking after and we will bring you lots of updates from the farm during the time away.
“To all our loyal members, your memberships will be extended by the period that we are closed and all visitors with upcoming bookings will be contacted next week with details of how their tickets can be used in the future.
“This is a very difficult decision for us as a team, but we have some ideas in the pipeline and we hope that when you return, we will be able to offer you something even better.
“Now is a time for solidarity and most importantly to stay safe. We are already looking forward to welcoming you back when the time is right.”
