Chattertons Solicitors, which has an office in Horncastle, chose the hospice as the Firm’s Charity of the Year for 2015 and the Charity Committee and staff at Chattertons have been helping organise a number of fundraising activities including quizzes, bake-a-thons, a tombola, raffles, ten pin bowling, Christmas jumper day and much more.
The main event of the year was an F1 evening, which raised £7,250.00 for the charity.
“This year’s Charity has also touched the hearts of the staff at Chattertons as our dear colleague Sophie Attfield was diagnosed with a tumour earlier in the year and has since passed away,” said Katherine Bunting, Partner and chair of the charity committee.
“Sophie was admitted to St Barnabas Hospice in Lincoln so we are pleased to have been supporting the Hospice in 2015.”
All of these events would not have been as successful without continued support from local businesses and individuals, as well as the generosity and hard work of Chattertons staff.
“The team should be so proud of all that they have achieved and we are delighted to have been part of this exciting year of fundraising,” said Veronica Brien, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at St Barnabas.
“We are forever grateful for the support they have given us, not just the financial contribution but also the awareness they have raised amongst friends, family and their clients.
“Through this support, we are able to continue providing the care and support to the people of Lincolnshire and ensure that our patients and their families can make the most of every moment together, thank you.”
Chattertons are looking forward to another year of fundraising for their Charity of the Year 2016, which staff have chosen to be The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of their colleague Sophie.
