Fantastic fundraising at Market Rasen store

Some brave men had their backs and legs waxed, while others took to a static bike or made cakes to sell.

“It has all gone very well,” said Jenny Stimson, community champion at the store. “Customers have, as always, been very supportive and all the staff have done something towards the weekend.”

There was a special significance to this event, as the Tesco staff were working extra hard at fundraising in memory of a colleague, who died suddenly in his early 40s of a heart condition.

Going along to lend her support to the event was Helena Mair, British Heart Foundation fundraising manager for Lincolnshire.

“I think this is all fabulous,” she said. “Heart disease affects so many people and without fundraisers like Jenny and her colleagues, the British Heart Foundation wouldn’t be able to fund important research.”
