'First 50 receive free goody bag': Free wellbeing event aims to help Skegness residents sleep better

A free wellbeing event designed to help people improve their sleep and overall health is coming to Skegness later this month.

The Lincolnshire Sleep Hub, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and delivered by The Sleep Charity, is hosting the event to celebrate the success of its county-wide sleep support programme.

Since launching in 2024, the project says it has helped hundreds of adults across Lincolnshire improve their sleep and wellbeing through community events, roadshows and advice sessions.

Organisers say the free event is aimed at anyone aged 18 and over who wants to learn more about improving their wellbeing and developing healthier sleep habits.

Visitors will be able to take part in a range of activities throughout the day, including sauna and cold plunge sessions, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, mindfulness workshops, Yoga Nidra relaxation sessions and a sound bath experience.

There will also be a wellbeing marketplace featuring community groups, mental health support organisations, nutrition advice, creative activities, holistic therapies and health information.

Other attractions include drumming sessions, hula hooping workshops, craft activities and tea blending experiences.

Organisers say good sleep is closely linked to physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, with factors such as stress levels, exercise and daily routines all playing an important role.

The first 50 people to register and attend will receive a free wellbeing goody bag containing products and information from exhibitors.

Free refreshments will be available throughout the day and visitors can also purchase food from the venue café.

The Wellbeing to Sleep Well event will take place at The Storehouse on North Parade on Thursday, June 18, from 10am to 3.30pm.
