Revesby Estate has reopened its fishing membership following a delay due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The team there has used the quiet period to create new swims and spring clean the lakes and surrounding areas.

Peter Wiggins-Davies, from Revesby Estate, said: “We were sad to delay the start of our fishing membership and want to thank everyone for their patience during this time. We are pleased that the lakes and membership are back open once again, just in time for some great weather!”

Set within the grounds of Revesby Estate, Revesby Fisheries is home to two waters – the main fishing reservoir at 36 acres and the breeding water at four acres.

During the winter of 2019, the estate stocked its breeding water with 200 new carp as part of its structured restocking programme.

The fish were introduced weighing between 5lb and 9lb, and are now going through a ‘growing on’ process before being transferred to the main reservoir when they reach their target weight.

The estate is using the re-opening as an opportunity to thank those working on the frontline of the crisis.

Mr Wiggins-Davies said: “We also want to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the Covid heroes. We have been touched to see how the Revesby and wider community has come together.

“To truly show our appreciation, we want to reward a frontline worker with a year’s free fishing membership.”

To be in with a chance to win, entrants must be a key worker and an experienced carp angler. They should send their details to [email protected]. A winner will be announced this month.
