The door rings have been decorated in green and blue, with ribbons, flowers, and foliage.

The ring, the club says, symbolises endless love, plus the cycle of life and hope, while green represents renewal, balance and progress, and blue the NHS.

“We hope it won’t be too long before we can start our monthly meetings again in our new venue,” a spokesman for the club said.

OPEN GARDENS

* Charity

The National Garden Scheme (NGS) has released more information about how it is responding to the Covid-19 lockdown.

The NGS has launched a new online scheme to keep its gardens open during the pandemic and, in doing so, continue to raise funds for nursing charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie and Hospice UK.

Organisers have created virtual garden visits, many filmed by the garden owners, to be hosted on the National Garden Scheme’s website.

These will be delivered direct to the nation’s inbox via the charity’s weekly eNewsletter with links via its social media channels.

Each week, on a Thursday, the NGS will release a new collection of virtual garden visits.

You can find them – and the full collection – on the NGS website at www.ngs.org.uk/virtual-garden-visits/

You can sign up to the weekly eNewsletter at www.ngs.org.uk/sign-up/

You can donate to the Support Our Gardens appeal at www.justgiving.com/campaign/supportourgardens

The NGS includes a number of sites in the Skegness and Spilsby area.

Last year, more than £57,000 was raised through events in Lincolnshire.
