The 12 toilets, operated by Danfo UK Limited on behalf of East Lindsey District Council, were subject to unannounced inspections with judges grading the toilets bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond based on the quality of the facilities and hygiene standards.

In Louth, the public toilets in Eastgate and at the Bus Station both received platinum awards.

Elsewhere in the district, Skegness’ public toilets in Tower Esplanade and Tower Gardens both earned platinum ratings, while the facilities in Briar Way, North Parade and Lumley Square all received gold awards.

Two of the toilet blocks - Roman Bank, Sandilands and Tower Gardens, Skegness - saw their grade improve from gold last year to platinum this year.

Meanwhile, the toilets in Central Promenade, Mablethorpe, could not be assessed this year due to being closed for repair.
