From menswear, to footwear, to fulfilment!

The team behind a Louth town centre menswear store has diversified as a result of the pandemic, with their latest venture providing a ‘solution on the doorstep’ allowing online businesses to thrive.

Dean Johnston is part of the team which launched The 
Fulfilment Hub in November.

Dean explained: “We’ve launched a new business to support growing online businesses. We will be providing fulfilment services to independent online businesses, supporting them with Amazon-style logistics, giving them an edge to keep 
up with growing demand.”

Dean says that the business is the first fulfilment centre in Louth, and he hopes that it will encourage people to know that you do not need to be in a city to grow a thriving online business, as there is 
a ‘solution on their doorstep’.

Dean founded the business alongside Mark Hewlett, who has a background in retail with over 40 years experience.

Dean and Mark opened their original menswear shop in the New Market Hall 
back in November 2018.

When the pandemic hit, they decided to relocate on to the industrial estate and grow their online business further.

At this stage, the team re-modelled their business to become a footwear company and grew online even further.

During this growth, they realised the need for fulfilment services - such as storing, packaging and dispatching goods - and so 
The Fulfilment Hub was born.

Dean continued: “We discovered a passion for 
logistics and, having successfully scaled our operations, 
we wanted to start a fulfilment service to allow small businesses owners 
to gain a competitive edge.

“We store, pick, pack and dispatch all online orders, so essentially you just send us your stock and we’ll take care of the rest. We integrate straight into our client’s website, and once you receive an order we’ll dispatch it for you, making sure their orders get into their customers 
hands quickly and efficiently.

“This also gives our clients the freedom to run their business without worrying about the operations, so whether they’re looking to claim back their kitchen table, design more of the amazing product they produce or simply have more family time it’s a flexible and scalable solution to modern day retail.”

Thanks to the demand, the business has been able to hire four more staff members.
