The market was closed to non essential traders due to the coronavirus pandemic and while some stalls were able to continue trading, such as the fruit and vegetable stalls, others did not.

Sonny Sareen, who runs the Bela Moda Boutique, said: “It’s nice to see many of our regular customers coming back after the months away, as well as the other traders.

“It’s good that people can get out and about and see that there are measures in place to make sure it is safe, which gives people confidence to do so.”

West Lindsey District Council, which hosts the market, has put a number of measures in place to make the market safe for both traders and customers.

This includes changing the layout of the market, improved signage for social distancing to ensure that traders and customers are able to shop in confidence.

And as an added extra bonus the council is offering free rents to all traders until April 2021 to support the market and market traders, although space is subject to availability and in line with Covid 19 social distancing guidelines.
