Schools, churches, community centres, pensioners clubs, soup kitchens, homeless groups and other not-for-profit groups in the district could be eligible for £1,000 from the foundation.

Boston Asda community champion Stephen Bromby is co-ordinating the grants locally, and has urged any organisation to contact him before the December 6 deadline.

“If you’re providing food parcels, Christmas hampers, delivering Christmas meals, cooking meals for collection, running a school holiday club, running a soup kitchen or homeless support group, then please get in touch for more details,” he said.

“We’d love to support you as you provide help to the most needy and vulnerable at this time,” he said.

The grants of up to £1,000 can be claimed through Stephen at the store.
