A gym in Skegness has raised £1,000 to help pay for a member's funeral.

Jason Bott, 38 - a member of Phoenix Fitness - sadly died on February 6.

Originally from Leicester, Jason enjoyed many caravan holidays in Skegness before moving to the resort a year ago.

Jack Johnson, owner of Phoenix Fitness, said members decided to run a raffle to help pay for the funeral expenses.

He said: "JJ was loved by so many. He was a supporter of Newcastle footy team and the Phoenix but most of all was passionate about his family, his friends and his beautiful nephew, Kai

"He would try and help anyone and had time for all people from all walks of life.

"He loved Skegness and living by the seafront

"The raffle raised £1,000 towards funeral costs.

"Jack's family and friends are very grateful to all at the gym and the donations for the raffle in his memory"
