The event has been a tradition in Faldingworth for many years and when interest was shown for it to go ahead this year, organisers thought ‘why not?’

Julie Shoulder, from the Friends of Faldingworth School, said: “We can’t hold the school fayre this year, but there will be 28 houses plus the school and Little Jesters with scarecrows to see.

“This year’s theme is ‘heroes’ - whether that is representing our Covid-19 heroes or traditional super-heroes.

“It is nice to see community spirit in these challenging times.”

Start the trail at the school from 10am on Saturday.

The event will also be held on Sunday, July 5.

It is hoped the village hall will also be able to open to serve refreshments.

Remember to follow the social distancing guidelines while walking round admiring the scarecrows.
