'Hopping on a bus can ease the pressure for everyone': Stagecoach sets out festive bus times for Skegness

Stagecoach East Midlands is urging passengers to “take the stress out of festive travel” by swapping the car for the bus this December.

Buses will run as normal right up to Christmas Eve, making it easier for shoppers, workers and visitors to get around during one of the town’s busiest periods.

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director for Stagecoach East Midlands, said Christmas congestion often pushes roads to their limits – and hopping on a bus can ease the pressure for everyone.

“Christmas is one of the busiest times on our roads, and heavy traffic or long queues can quickly turn festive outings into stressful journeys,” he said.

“That’s why we’re encouraging people to take the bus this season for a more convenient, reliable and stress-free way to travel.”

Passengers are being reminded of earlier finishes on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, with last Services 1 and 56 departing between 7.20pm and 8.35pm.

There will be no buses on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day, in line with previous years.

Services will operate normally from December 27–30 , before resuming fully again from Friday, January 2, 2026.

Stagecoach adds its teams will be working hard behind the scenes to keep services moving smoothly in the run-up to Christmas and through the New Year celebrations.

Downloadable leaflets and full timetable details are now available online to help travellers plan their festive journeys.
