Held on Saturday, September 19 - the same weekend as the Bathing Beauties Festival – Mablethorpe Carnival saw thousands take to the streets as the parade made its way through the town.
This year’s theme was ‘Movie Legends’ – with participants showing real creativity in recreating some familiar film faces and costumes. From Dr Who and ‘Jurassic Park’-inspired floats, to Disney film characters and Jack Sparrow riding a chopper – there were plenty of impressive and unusual entries this year.
Visitors to the town were also kept entertained with live music, a variety of stalls to browse, sandcastle sculptures and a fireworks display.
Many praised the 2026 event on social media – but some said they would like to see more local businesses supporting it next year.
Scoops ice-cream got a few special mentions for generously handing out free ice-creams to participants of the parade. Several who attended also offered thanks to the volunteer carnival committee who give up their time to provide this free event in Mablethorpe.
Photographer Holly Parkinson went along to capture some of the action from the carnival...
