The exterior of Orchard Park is now adorned in cascades of red, with flashes of purple and poignant words to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The displays are the handiwork of a group made up of the park’s owners, private caravan owners and other volunteers.
This is the third year the caravan park has put out poppy displays – but this year is certainly their most impressive.
One of the volunteers is caravan owner Linda Gary, who said: “Creating this display is a deeply moving way to bring our community together, transforming a shared space into a visual tribute for the fallen and their families, creating a great community spirit for our park.
“Visitors to the park are amazed and encourage us to extend it, which is a challenge for us to come up with new ideas. The more poppies we can knit the bigger it will get.”
Many have praised the displays, with almost 100 followers leaving positive comments on Facebook. One woman writes: “Looks amazing, well done to all the knitters and people who help put it all together”, another adds: “You must be so proud, it’s just heart warming and we will never forget! Thank you.”
