Dressed in elaborate Victorian-inspired outfits, complete with bustle skirts, corsets, top hats, tailcoats and goggles – members of East Coast Steampunks brought a touch of theatrical fantasy to the Lincolnshire countryside.
The event, held at the Grade II listed National Trust site, located just outside Skegness, included a ‘parasol parade’ in the grand gardens.
“We had such great feedback from visitors about our outfits,” said group organiser Christina Ruby Willow. “A big crowd watched ‘The Order of the Silk Umbrella’ doing their parasol parading, and we got lots of applause. There were lots of steampunks in their finery, who were always willing to pose for photos with visitors.”
She added “Some of our members travelled long distances to be with us on Saturday. We had some wonderful compliments and everyone was so lovely to us.”
