Olivia Brown says she will never forget the moment she picked the keys up for her new premises in Castleton Boulevard in Skegness.

"It’s really exciting that the anniversary falls on International Women’s Day,” said Olivia, who won the Health and Well-being category of the Skegnes Business Awards in November last year and also has pop-up clinics in Lincoln.

"The last six months have been really busy – there are some businesses that want to do some collaborations with me and I’ve upgraded some of the pain workshops that I run.

"I was really excited when I won the Skegnes Business Awards for Health and Well-being, which was great.

"Being here four years and coming up to eight years in the industry, so all the great things are coming together now.”

The former Skegness Grammar School student said sprts therapy was the ideal direction for her to take as she has always been ‘really active’, enjoying kickboxing and running.

"Academic subjects never excited me but when I saw sport therapy as one of the modules at Lincoln University I knew that was what I wanted to do.

" I mostly do injury assessments on aches and pains – backache for example. I’ll look at what caused it and which treatments I think will be best.

"And then we will work though some after care as well, such as movements to do.

"I might provide a home pack to manage for clients to manage pain themselves.

"I have also recently started scar therapy, working with swellings after operations and lymphatic drainage massage.”

The clinic is warm and welcoming with a focus of clients feeling relaxed and not embarrased to fully benefit from the treatment.

"I have such a variety of clients from children to working people and the retired,” she said. “My youngest client has been seven and the oldest in her 90s.

"The clinic is available to everyone because disability access is there.”

Olivia said she would like to thank all her clients for their support in allowing her to continue ‘her dream’.

She said: "I am really grateful for the last six months and how everything is coming together.”
