‘It’s a twister – come on, let's run!’: Dramatic storm clouds captured over Skegness coast

Holidaymakers and residents looked to the skies as dramatic storm clouds gathered over Skegness.

Kevin Crossley was enjoying what he described as a "lovely evening walk" along the seafront with a friend on Tuesday when they spotted an unusual cloud formation developing behind them.

Capturing the moment on video, Kevin can be heard joking: "Eh up, there's something following us."

His companion replied: "It's a twister."

As the dramatic clouds continued to build, Kevin responded: "Come on, let's run."

The footage shows dark, swirling clouds looming over the coastline as unsettled weather swept across the county.

Similar scenes were reported inland, with dramatic skies also photographed over Burgh le Marsh by local resident Mark Julian.

Mark said he had witnessed similar weather conditions before but was still struck by the dramatic spectacle.

Despite the eye-catching scenes, there were no reports of storm-related flooding in the Skegness area.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said there had been no incidents reported locally, although crews were called to two flooding incidents in Lincoln at around 5.45pm.

The first, at Goldsmith Walk, resolved itself as floodwater subsided naturally.

The second, at Wolsey Way, required firefighters to use a light portable pump and four hoses to remove water from a property.

The unsettled weather is expected to continue over the coming days.

According to the Met Office, outbreaks of rain and showers will be interspersed with drier and sunnier spells, with occasionally windy conditions, particularly on Saturday.
