Market Rasen Commanding Officer Terence Carpenter has been touched by the support given this year by people and in particular the latest donation.

He said: “I was in the local fish and chip shop recently when I was spoken to by a lady who was asking what The Salvation Army was doing for children leading up to and including Christmas.

“I was able to share with her some of the community work we had been doing over the past six months and she said her two children wanted to help others.

“I gave her my details and two weeks later she came to the hall, where I was able to meet with Caleb and Keira and accept all the gifts they had gathered and supplied us with for distribution.

“It is so lovely these children wanted to make a difference to others.”

The gifts were used by the Salvation Army to help local families with young children, who also received selection boxes, which had also been donated.
