Latest Bloom bid begins with new theme for 2020 and other Neighbourhood News
This year, it will have a theme of ‘Wild at Heart’.
Organisers Alford in Bloom will be running a number of projects for youngsters to get involved in the community-spirited scheme.
It has already got started with local Cubs decorating a willow structure of a bird made by member Christina Melaugh.

Hide Ad“The boys and girls have finished off the bird by filling it with moss and rosemary, this will be handy for the birds making their nests shortly, and in addition they have added the wings and tail feathers with small sticks of willow and redwood,” said fellow member Glynis Docker.
Following a competition, the bird has been named Annabelle. She is now on display for the summer at the Manor House Gardens.
BURGH LE MARSH
* Spring clean
Burgh Town Council has signed up to the Great British Spring Clean and will hold community litter picks on Saturday, March 21, and Saturday, April 4.
They will start from the library, in Tinkers Green, at 10am.

The Dance Fit group on Wednesday afternoons offers music and fitness at Burgh Baptist Community Church.
Dance yourself fit to a variety of music from 2-3pm, and step lively for line dancing from 3-4pm. Beginners’ tuition is available.

Hide AdThe Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust invites nature-lovers to join its coastal warden at a Sea Watch session near Skegness this weekend.
The event will take place at the North Sea Observatory, in Chapel Point, on Sunday, March 15, from 10am to 12pm.
Attendees are asked to bring binoculars or a telescope for the chance to see passing sea birds, seals, and maybe even harbour porpoise.
The event is free, with no booking necessary.
