Local talent takes spotlight as The Sound of Musicals returns to centre stage at The Embassy
One of Skegness' best-loved summer theatre traditions is set to return as The Sound of Musicals takes to the stage at The Embassy Theatre throughout August.
The 2026 production marks an incredible milestone for producer and choreographer Janice Sutton, who is celebrating her 41st consecutive summer production at the theatre.
Performed every Thursday evening in August, the spectacular show will feature 75 local performers, with dancers aged from just seven to 28 taking part.
For 15 of the young cast members, this year's production will be their very first summer show at The Embassy – an experience they are sure to remember for years to come.

Joining the talented cast are principal singers Trevor Fenton, Tom Bland, Katy Tabor and Emma Wighton, while audiences can also look forward to a special guest appearance from Skegness favourite and drag performer Jenna G.
This year's musical theme pays tribute to Babes on Broadway, the very first summer production Janice staged at The Embassy more than four decades ago.
Packed with well-known songs and energetic performances, audiences can expect numbers from Paddington, A Chorus Line, Everybody's Talking About Jamie – featuring Jenna G – as well as a celebration of the music of The Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson.
As well as providing an entertaining evening, the production celebrates Janice Sutton's remarkable contribution to performing arts in Skegness.
Over the past 41 years she has helped inspire generations of young performers, giving them the rare opportunity to perform in a professional theatre during the busy summer season. Many former cast members have gone on to successful careers as dancers, choreographers, singers and performers with professional companies around the world.
Janice Sutton Productions also remains unique at The Embassy as the only local production to enjoy a full run of performances, rather than a one-night event.
With a cast made up almost entirely of local talent, colourful costumes, popular musical numbers and plenty of feel-good entertainment, The Sound of Musicals promises to be another summer highlight for audiences of all ages.
The Sound of Musicals will be performed at The Embassy Theatre on August 6, 13, 20 and 27, with all performances starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced at £22 for adults and £15 for children and can be booked by calling the Embassy Theatre box office on 01754 474100 or via the theatre's website at
