Voluntary Independent Monitors of life are being sought from the community by North Sea Camp open prison near Boston.
There are currently six members of the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) at North Sea Camp who are ordinary people from the community.

Hide AdChair of North Sea Camp IMB Greg Cejer said: ‘Every prison has an IMB attached to it whose role is to ensure that Home Office rules and regulations are properly applied and proper standards of care and decency are maintained.”
Although the job is unpaid, expenses are covered.
The Board is looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, open minded, have good communication skills and can exercise sound and objective judgement.
“The Board would like to hear from anyone who is over 18 and lives within 35 miles of Boston,” said Mr Cejer.
“The Board is particularly keen to hear from anyone of working age, members of black and ethnic minority communities and women as these are under represented on the existing Board.”

Hide AdProspective members need no special qualifications or experience, as training and support will be provided. The work typically takes up 4-5 half days a month but the board can be flexible. More information can be found at www.justice.gov.uk/about/imb
HMP North Sea Camp is a Category D male open prison accommodating about 420 prisoners.
