Lillian O’Connor, 10, set herself a challenge of walking 100km throughout the month of April.

Lillian, who attends East Wold CE Primary School in Legbourne, approached her parents earlier this year asking how she could raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Lillian was inspired to support this charity as her beloved grandad has Alzheimer’s.

Supported by her friends, family and a teacher from her school, Lillian has almost completed her mammoth challenge.

Lillian’s parents Ryan and Sally O’Connor said: “We are so very proud of Lillian in not only wanting to raise awareness of this life debilitating condition but also in her determination in completing the challenge.

“Watching someone live with this condition through an adult’s eyes is traumatic enough, so to see Lillian act on her emotion with positivity is inspiring.

“We thank everyone who has supported Lillian through their words, donations and accompanying her throughout her challenge.”

Lillian set up a JustGiving page with a target of raising £350 - and she is delighted that the total currently stands at more than £750.
