The event was held at the Tower Gardens Pavilion — all in aid of Lincolnshire mental-health charity Shine.
Guests arrived to a welcoming spread of tea, coffee and mince pies provided by Skegness Town Council, while the room filled with bright knits and jingling jumpers.
Among those attending was Lucy Goodchild, communication and engagement officer for Shine Lincolnshire, who said she was touched to see such strong support for the charity from the town council and local community.
Deputy Town Clerk Kate Ford explained how staff and volunteers had thrown themselves into fundraising.
“We are raising money for Shine through our Christmas Jumper Day and our Knit and Natter craft group, who have been busy making Christmas jumper decorations for a voluntary donation,” she said. “All the staff wore Christmas jumpers for a donation too.”
Coun Brookes praised Shine’s work, reminding residents that mental health challenges can affect anyone.
“Many of us struggle with some form of mental health at some point,” he said. “So we are delighted to support Shine in this way. I’d encourage anyone who might be struggling to reach out to them.”
