Minister bids farewell to flock

FATHER David Eames and his wife Megs bade farewell to their congregation at St John’s Church in Brigg prior to Mr Eames taking up his new post as vicar of Broughton, Scawby, Hibaldstow and Redbourne.

The St John’s congregation were joined by those from All Saints Church in Cadney and St Mary’s Church in Wrawby in saying thank you in appreciation of his ministry in the group over the three years he has served as curate.

The licensing service for Father Eames is to be held at Broughton Parish Church on Thursday, October 6 at 7.30pm.

St John’s holds its harvest festival on Sunday, October 2 at 9.30am. On Thursday, October 13 the Yarborough deanery confirmation service is being held at St John’s at 7.30pm.

This year’s Christian Aid collection in Brigg totalled £5,300. A further £250 has recently been sent to the Horn of Africa appeal.
