Money raised to help secure the future Lincoln Drill Hall

The venue’s ‘Be a Brick’ campaign generated the cash in just 10 months thanks to the generosity of the community to secure its future following a series of funding cuts.

The charity run arts centre needs to raise £130,000 per year in order to continue its diverse, accessible and entertaining programme of performances and operate as a community venue that hosts a variety of inclusive clubs and events.

The amount raised so far will go a long way to securing its future, helping the venue to continue its programme of arts and community activities in Lincoln and the wider county.

The ‘Be a Brick’ campaign was launched in February 2019 with the aim of raising £130,000 in 12 months. The count will be set back to zero in the spring, kickstarting another year of fundraising.

Lincoln Drill Hall’s Chief Executive, Chris Kirkwood said: “We’re overwhelmed with the amount of support we’ve received over the past 10 months, so I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to ‘Be a Brick'.

“Whether you’ve helped us to raise funds, raised awareness of our campaign, made a donation or come along to a performance or fundraising event, your support is greatly appreciated.

“With a few weeks left, we’re so close to reaching our target, so I encourage anyone with an interest in the arts or who values the Drill Hall to spread the word, make a donation and help us to keep this place at the heart of the community.

“Our second year of fundraising will soon begin, and we want to keep up the momentum so we welcome any group or individual with an idea for fundraising activities to get in touch. We’re facing an ongoing challenge so we need continuous support from the community as we work positively towards the future.”

As part of Drill Hall’s ‘Be a Brick’ campaign, supporters can buy virtual bricks on its website for £10 or £50 per year, each representing one of the 500,000 bricks which make up Lincoln Drill Hall.
