Market Rasen’s new uniform bank has proved to be a roaring success – and it has only been open for one week.

In fact, it has proved to be so successful, organisers are appealing for more donations of branded and general uniform to keep stocks up and to help more local families.

Co-ordinator for the uniform bank is Nicky Brooksbank who runs the Nice & Naughty Cafe Bistro in Queen Street, opposite the outlet.

She said: “The first week has seen a lot of people come through the door, so it shows there is a real need for the uniform bank, especially with many local families feeling the economic strain with the ongoing situation with the coronavirus pandemic.

“If we can get enough uniform, we will run throughout August to help as many local families as we can.”

Donations of good, clean uniform items, PE kits etc can be taken along to the shop, which is open from 10am to noon on Tuesday and Saturday, as well as 2pm to 4pm on Thursdays.

Items can also be dropped off at the town council office next to the Festival Hall on any weekday morning, between 9am and 11am.

The uniform bank is one of the initiatives set up through the Market Rasen Town Partnership Covid-19 Support group.

The group, headed by Stephen Bunney, is looking at ways to support local businesses and residents long term following the coronavirus pandemic.
