The News revealed yesterday (Thursday) how some people had even brought chairs to queue for prescriptions at Boots Pharmacy off Spilsby Road.

Now, Andrew Neal, who is chairman of the East Lincolnshire Patient Group, says more needs to be done.

He’s concerned that the queues could have an impact on patients using the nearby Horncastle Medical Practice.

Mr Neal, who is also a member of the Medical Practice’s Patient Group, says he couldn’t praise doctors and staff enough.

He said: “I have written to Mark Hall at the NHS who is in charge of dispensing all medicines in Lincolnshire.

“I am concerned because the Boots Pharmacy is not big enough to cope with demand in normal circumstances and they apparently have staffing issues.

“I understand how difficult the situation is for staff.

“The queues have been stretching back along Spilsby Road at some stage and that could have an impact on people trying to get to the surgery.

“The staff at the pharmacy are doing their best but surely there is something that can be done to help.”
