955 patients attended booked appointments for the clinic, which ran from 8.30am to 4pm.

Due to the number of bookings, the clinic was held at Stanhope Hall – and not the medical practice.

Before attending, people were asked to wear a face mask, arrive on time and ensure medical staff had easy access to their arm.

Only people who had booked were seen.

Andrew Neal, from the practice’s Patient Reference Group, said: “Nearly all the members of the public complied with the requests and consequently almost everyone was vaccinated within 10 minutes of their booked time.

“Many thanks to all the public concerned for their compliance with the guidance given.”

Before entering the hall, temperatures were taken by a health care assistant. A practice nurse was also on hand to offer advice.

There were four lines of patients running at the same time, each one with a nurse who carried out the vaccinations and an administrator who ensured data was recorded electronically.

Volunteers from the Patient Reference Group guided patients in and out of the hall.

Mr Neal added: “The whole clinic was a great success and thanks to all of the practice staff, volunteers and the practice manager.”
